She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jeff Powell, on June 28, 1995, in the Bahamas. She furthered her education and received her Master’s in Psychology. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She attended college at Mankato State in Mankato, Minnesota. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1990. She began her schooling in Akron before moving to Le Mars.
